Admit it: That giraffe looks just as striking as the unicorn.

In case you were wondering, both female and male giraffes have ossicones, according to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. When males fight each other -- something known as "necking contests" -- these nubs of cartilage allow them to hit harder.

Eventually, other strange members of the animal kingdom were brought into the discussion.

So there you have it. The next time someone tells you unicorns and dragons are absurd, just show them a picture of a giraffe.
