A college football game between Baylor and Rice on September 16 saw one of those rules tragically broken. Someone in the stands had a laser pointer. And, god help us all, they shined it on the field.

This random and uncommon event led to one of the stranger referee announcements in televised college football history. Referee Daniel Gautreaux took to the field and firmly announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, please refrain from shooting lasers onto the field. Thank you."
